Remember, remember the 5th of November… This year falling on a Monday. We’ve put together our favourite sweet treats for you to enjoy with your family whilst watching the sky light up with beautiful bright bursts of light.

 

Toffee apples are a staple in celebrating bonfire night, and in the past, I’ve had to make my own! Which although sounds technical, actually is quite a simple recipe.

 

All you need is:

- Granny smith apples

- 400g golden sugar

- Vinegar

- Golden syrup

 

  1. Firstly, pour boiling water over your apples, this helps remove a wax film that may stop the toffee from sticking.

  2. Put your apples onto parchment paper.

  3. Add sugar into a pan with 100ml water and set over a medium heat. Cook for around 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves

  4. Stir in vinegar and syrup and boil until the concoction reaches 150C

  5. Quickly dip each pple into the hot toffee until fully covered nd place on parchment paper.

  6. Allow to cool and set before eating.

This next concoction is this deliciously autumnal Terry’s hot chocolate. Not only is this super warming, but it’s ridiculously tasty.

(Serves 1)

All you’ll need is;

- 5 Terrys Hot Chocolate segments (add more for extra rich flavor)

- Milk (alternative milk works just as well as animal milk)

 

For the toppings:

- Whipped cream

- Popping candy

- Chocolate shavings

 

1 )Add 1 cup of milk to a pan and warm up gently.

2) Add in chocolate segments and melt down until all smooth

3) Pour in mug and top with whipped cream, popping candy and any extras you like

The last treat we have up our sleeve is not as traditional as toffee apples but oh so tasty. S’mores. They’re an American staple for campfires, and for good reason.

 

We’ve amended this slightly, so you can easily find these ingredients, but the outcome is still just as

 

delicious.

 

You will need:

- Marshmallows

- Melting chocolate (dairy milk is really good at melting)

- Digestives

  1. Pop the digestives into the bottom of a baking tray

  2. Add a layer of melting chocolate

  3. Add a layer of the marshmallows

  4. Pop in the oven on 350F for around 10 minutes or until the marshmallows have melted
