The Best Books For Children

21 Dec 2018

Whether you want to get your child in to reading or if they’re already book worms it can be exciting seeing where their imagination can take them. We have curated our favourite children’s books that are easy to read and great for expanding imagination.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - The Original Screenplay – J.K Rowling.

The Wizarding world continues…The book is set in 1929 just a few short months after the events of Fantastic Beasts. From New York to London, Paris and back to Hogwarts, this story of magical mysteries reveals an extraordinary new chapter in the wizarding world. This is the new Generations Harry Potter – but better.

Secret Science: The Amazing World Beyond Your Eyes – Darah O’briain

The perfect book for the mad scientists. Science is a constant state. You cannot stop science. Even when you are sleeping science is non-stop EVERYWHERE. O’briain doesn’t just make science fun but he makes it funny as well, taking you on a journey from the comfort of your home to you day to day life and beyond.

I Need A New Bum – Dawn McIllan

With only 32 pages, this is a great book for beginners. With lots of funny illustrations to go with a quirky tale. The young boy notices a big problem… his bum has a huge crack! So he sets off to find a new one… obviously. Where do his adventures take him?

Mary Poppins – P.L. Tavers

First published in 1964 this classic book has been on many generations book shelves. When Mary Poppins arrives at their house on a gust of the East Wind and slides up the bannister, Jane and Michael Banks's lives are turned magically upside down. With the most recent release of the film, this will be a great read before watching the film to get their imagination running wild.

 Gangster Granny – David Walliams
Ben is bored beyond belief after he is made to stay at his grandma's house. She's the boringest grandma ever. But there are two things Ben doesn't know about his grandma. 1) She was once an international jewel thief. 2) All her life, she has been plotting to steal the Crown Jewels, and now she needs Ben's help... Another hysterical book by Walliams who has now become the fastest growing children’s author in the UK.
